Reminders
  • Reminder: Parent drop-off and pick-up take place on the cafeteria side of the building. Please drive around the school to pick up and drop off your students safely. Additionally, during parent pick-up, please drive all the way forward to the stop sign and wait for us to release your child to your vehicle. We try to load all students at once to keep them safe and secure.
  • Thanks for your help with the dress code. Students should not wear linked chains that hang off the waist. This creates a safety hazard as the chains can be used as weapons.
  • Remind your child to keep their hands to themselves and to talk to an adult if they have an issue with another student.
We want to partner more with the community that we serve.
  • (Still looking for some more partners) We are collecting donations to reward our students and teachers who display ARMOR, have exceptional attitudes, and are all-around good citizens at WCMS. Items include, but are not limited to:
    • Monetary Donations
    • Gift Cards
    • Pre-packaged snack cakes
    • Candy
    • Fidget Toys
Attendance Reminders
  • On the 4th unexcused absence, the student will begin owing Time-for-Time (One hour for each class period per unexcused absence). Unexcused absences must be made up within ten (10) school days. If students do not make up absences in the allotted time, students will be assigned two sessions of lunch detention for every hour of Time-for-Time owed.

  • On the 5th unexcused absence, parent/guardian and student will be contacted to create a Tier 2 Attendance Contract.

  • Further unexcused absences will result in a Truancy Board Hearing and possible filing of a truancy petition.

  • Five parent notes are allowed per year (from August to May). Please turn in any doctor or parent notes as soon as possible. The Time for Time schedule is below. We encourage you to partner with us to ensure your student attends school regularly. If you have any questions or need additional help, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to help.

Happenings at WCMS
The following students were recognized by their teachers for wearing their ARMOR daily. The students were Accountable, Respectful, Motivated, Organized, and Responsible. Way to go, Warriors!

Energy Drinks
Please do not allow your child to bring energy drinks to school. Below is some information about the concerns of caffeine and energy drinks:
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that children under 12 avoid caffeine and that children and teens limit caffeine to 100 milligrams per day. A single energy drink can contain up to 15 teaspoons of sugar.
Health risks
  • Energy drinks can cause a variety of health issues, including irregular heart rhythms, headaches, stomachaches, nervousness, and shaking hands.
Other ingredients
  • Energy drinks can contain other stimulants and ingredients that are not safe for children. For example, some vitamin waters contain herbal ingredients that haven't been studied in children.
Sugar
  • The excess sugar in energy drinks can lead to a crash, leaving children tired and irritable. It can also contribute to tooth decay, high blood pressure, and heart disease.
Cafeteria
Federal law prohibits outside food and drinks (e.g., McDonald's, Domino's, KFC, etc.) in the cafeteria, and outside food deliveries to students cannot be accepted. Students may bring their lunch boxes.
